Musicians : Robert Bodja
Participants : inhabitants of Grevenmacher, seniors of the “Home pour personnes âgées Saint-François”, refugees
Description :
From March to June 2017, about twenty refugees will meet with the inhabitants of Grevenmacher and the seniors of the “Home pour personnes âgées Saint-François” and will participate in a cultural and inclusive workshop under the direction of the percussionist Robert Bodja. With music and djembés a dialogue between the different cultures and generations is created. Music is a universal language which helps to abolish barriers and which can become the bearer of a common project of joy and happiness. The Djembé workshops provide the means for a cultural, generation and social gathering. The final concert will take place on 16thof June during the annual "Fête de la musique".
This project is the first collaboration between Kulturhuef asbl, the Maison de retraite "Saint-François", the municipality of Grevenmacher and the Fondation EME.
