Bridges: a collaborative initiative by the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Fondation EME and the Croix-Rouge Luxembourgeoise

By providing the tools and resources necessary to learn and make music, Bridges seeks to create a safe and inclusive space for refugees to express themselves and form meaningful connections with others. Ultimately, «Bridges» aims to showcase their musical talent, invite them into the Orchestre de la Place de l’Europe and thus demonstrate how people from various backgrounds and cultures can be brought together through the universal language of music.

"Aus den Fugen" accompanies an old resident from the SERVIOR care homee "Thillebierg" in Differdange who, despite progressive dementia, still plays piano and organ. He is a wonderful example of the power of music when life goes off the rails and cognitive powers decline.

"Aus der Fugen" is a kind of "soundtrack" of his life. The former student of Maître Albert Leblanc has all his scores in his head - respectively in his heart. He plays pieces of music that have accompanied him throughout his professional career as an organist in Kayl, Rumelange and Esch.
