Nora Braun is a Luxembourgish cellist, chamber musician and professor at the Conservatory in Esch-sur-Alzette.
Nora has performed major concertos by Elgar, Saint Saens, Brahms and Tchaikovsky with orchestras, including the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, WDR Symphony Orchestra and the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra. in May 2024, she performed Saint Saens cello concerto with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
She has represented her country during official events such as State Visits or during the Official Celebration for Luxembourg National Day at the Philharmonie.
A laureate of several international competitions, she has won first prizes at the International Cello Competition Liezen (Austria), the Bundeswettbewerb "Jugend Musiziert" (Germany) and earned gold medals at the European Competition for Young Soloist (Luxembourg), including 2 SACEM prizes. She also received a merit scholarship from the Rotary Club Luxembourg-Kiern in 2012.
Nora studied at the Luxembourg Conservatoire, the Pre College Cologne at the Hochschule für Musik und Tank Köln under Prf. Claus Kanngiesser and the Guidhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees with Louise Hopkins. She has attended masterclasses with prominent musicians such as Gary Hoffman, Ralf Gothoni, David Grigorian and Mirei Iancovici.
Recent highlights include a concert at the Château de Koerich (Luxembourg), and participating in festivals such as the Alderney Chamber Music Festival (UK), Les Musicales Gessiennes (France), and Mas Musici (France).
Nora is the co-founder and artistic director of the Agora Music Festival and a member of Trio Corova and Trio Accord. She plays on a 2016 instrument made by Tanguy Fraval.
