Serge Tonnar was born in Luxembourg in 1970. After training as a journalist—a profession he practiced for several years—he became a performer in 1997. He is a composer and performer of his own songs. He performs both as a solo artist and with various bands and other artists. In the theater world, Serge Tonnar is also an actor, playwright, director, and producer of plays in the Luxembourgish language. In 2015, the year of the refugee crisis, he co-founded the association “Mir wëllen iech ons Heemcht weisen” (We Want to Show You Our Homeland) with the aim of intensifying intercultural dialogue by bringing Luxembourgers closer to the culture of foreigners living here and vice versa.
