Annemie Osborne is a Luxembourgish cellist based in Brussels. Trained in classical cello by Claude Giampellegrini (LU), Anna Shuttleworth (University of Leeds), and Jeroen Reuling (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel), she has cultivated her interest in improvised and traditional music through courses, workshops, and travels, notably through courses in free improvisation (Kris Defoort) and jazz (Hendrik Vanattenhoven, Tcha Limberger). Since 2008, she has performed in projects featuring original or rearranged music, such as OakTree, Julia goes Mercutio, Toine Thys Overseas, Benjamin Sauzereau Remorque, Tristan Driessens Soolmaan, as well as the string quartet In Praise of Folly. Since 2015, she has been working with the Belgian company Klankennest and has toured Europe with the musicals for toddlers Woodpecker and Manta. In a series of solo concerts designed for audiences with specific needs or for elderly people with dementia, she combines cello and voice; this includes, among other projects, “Museksmomenter-Liewensspueren, ” created for the Fondation EME.
